Physical appearance:
Etsuko is a rather lithe and limber girl. She would probably make a great swimmer or maybe a gymnast, but she could care less about sports. Her looks run in the family, all the women in her family look either exactly the same or very closely the same. Her and her little sister look like clones. She has nimble fingers and ears that can pick almost every sound. Her arms are built of muscle from playing Karuta with her little sister. Her hair is black and goes a bit below her shoulders. She also has sliver-blue eyes. Her face is very mature and could fool any man into thinking she was at least 19. Her school clothes consist of the normal Sailor Fuku of her school. Her outside clothes usually consist of a black T-Shirt with a small heart in the corner and black shorts that have spandex in them. Her Karuta clothes is her sister's favorite shirt that she found in Etsuko's closet. She also wears sweat pants and her brown school shoes.

Personality:
Even though Etsuko doesn't play Karuta for her passion or as a hobby, she gets very worked up when she loses. When she's down by at least 5 cards she start contesting every single one she loses, even if she knew she lost it. It just happens that she's competitive. She spends as much as time with her little sister as possible because she might not see much of her after she graduates. She loves her sister so much, she wouldn't know what to do if her sister got hurt. She doesn't have many friends as people find her rather scary.

Background:
Etsuko is from a normal Japanese family. She was raised in a loving home with her mother and father. They then gave birth to her little sister who she was stuck to since Aika's birth. They grew up always together and when Aika got interested in Karuta Etsuko decided that she would make her sister's Karuta experience the best she could. Her parents signed them up at a Karuta Society and that's where they spend most of their time. Etsuko is also able to keep up her hobby of playing the piano and harp during her free time that is not taken up by Karuta.
