Jewel of the Sea (Open)

She laughed and patted him on the back. "Hahha. Maybe you should stop using drugs man. Makes you say funny things." She began teasing him. She had no idea that he was telling the truth.

"I'm really not, actually I'm uh, a Tengu." He rubs the back of his head

She began to of the front of the boat. "Oh stop it. Stop making fun of the whole 'not human' thing. You're as human as they come dude." She said and started the boat again.

He sighs and waves his arms slowly and intricately, dark blue feathers swirl around him as his feet turn to talons and he sprouts wings. "Believe me now?"

Ren began flipping out. "Damn! Oh shit!" She started turning the boat wheel crazily.

He fell over in the resulting confusion, and returned to his human form. "AH CALM YO TITS GIRL"

She slowly returned to normal. "Dear god..." She wasn't sure what to say now.

"You can see why I kept this particular secret from you... Also I think your sister is a mermaid, or half mermaid, or something." He hadn't put together that she was one just yet, or, feigned not doing so.

Kazu nodded and focused,
"follow as fast as you can"
the board tilted forward and went shooting off faster then seemed possible, slipping under the water to reduce visibility, using his powers to form a streamlined pocket of air around him, literally slicing through the water.
his form was mostly human, but with discreet gills and pointed ears, as well as slightly scaly skin.

Nami dived after him, keeping up fairly well, but trailing several feet behind the whole time.

"I'm so stupid, I shouldn't have left her alone! I'm a failure as Premier Scout."

She had no idea what to say honestly. She just needed to go to her meeting with Kazu. "She's a mermaid....let's say...From my father's side...so...."

"So both our families are weird huh? Are you uh... A mermaid too?" He sat down, this was a lot to adjust to, she saw his feathers and everything. "Tengu and Merfolk are kind of neutral towards each other, so we can still be friends without anyone giving us weird looks."

She nodded then stopped. "Well...half-mermaid, half-human." She said and kept an eye out for the cove. "I'm happy I'm not the only one who isn't human..." She began laughing happily.

He decides to hug her again, pulling her tight and whispering 'Hail hydra.' into her ear softly, as a joke, and to diffuse the situation some more. He was happy, and kept kinda hugging for a while.

She began laughing loudly. "Dude, you have got to stop making fun of me." She said and tried squirming out if the hug.

"Nope you are in hug jail." He nuzzles on her a bit, and hopes it isn't awkward for her.

kazu, damn near invisable in the water swam up to the side of baot, a thin tendril of clear water snaking across the deck towards Karls ankle.

She began wiggling more, trying to escape this hug jail!

Combat reflexes activate, but are fought down, what better way to keep these people away from Ren was there then letting her see them attack her unarmed best friend? He couldn't have planned it better himself. "Do you know you can trust these other mermaids Ren? Just because they are the same race as you doesn't mean they have your best interest in mind." He lets go of her now, not wanting her dragged into this too.

Nami floats beside Kaz, keeping a close eye on the water tentacle thing and the two on the boat.

kazy seemed to vanish, the stream of water slowly growing into a blob, a humanoid blob, behind KArl. its features were still indistinct.

She stared at Kazu. "Dude...Kazu. Calm down." She said and walked closer to Karl and the 'blob'. She really wasn't sure what else to say.

He raised a brow, turned to see some sort of water monster, and jumped in front of Ren "What the hell is that, Ren get back!"

The now human looking blob spoke with kazu's voice.
"Dammit, I was going for the jump scare approach."
The water shifted into a semi solid form of Kazu.
"Also, it's about time for lessons ren."
The water defined more, turning into human Kazu, wearing swim shorts. His ears were pointy, and there were small slits in his neck.
His voice was.. friendly almost, and slightly sardonic. Which was weird how he acted to get there..

Nami peeked her head over the side of the boat, watching the action go down.
